JK Tyre and Delhi Traffic Police join hands for the cause of Road Safety in Delhi as a part of National Road Safety Week

JK Tyre kick-started this year’s ‘Road Safety Week’ on Sunday in association with the Delhi Police’s Road Safety Cell. The activities commenced by flagging off Road Safety Walk yesterday is presence of Mr. Vikram Malhotra, Marketing Director, JK Tyre & Industries Limited along with Mr Vijay Chhibber, Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and Dr. Muktesh Chander, Special Commissioner of Police Traffic, Delhi. The participants walked from Rajpath to Shastri Bhawan.

Volunteers from JK Tyre will be strategically deployed at various prominent locations in Delhi, between 11th and 17th January, in association with the Traffic Police to create awareness about Road Safety.

With increasing vehicle population and daily pressures of life, individuals and organisations need to unite to address the issue of road safety. Although as per Delhi Police records, there has been a drop in the number of fatal accidents in the capital; the present numbers still are a matter of concern. Every January, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways observes the National Road Safety Week to create awareness among citizens. This year, it is being held from the 11th – 17th January 2015. ). NCC Cadets and various NGOs also participated in the initiative.

Since tyre is the only point of contact of a vehicle with the road, the cause holds a special place for JK Tyre.
