Chevrolet India will soon be launching the refreshed Sail hatchback & Sail sedan models in Indian market with the on-going festive season. The company has launched a teaser campaign on their facebook page.
The Sail twins will not get any changes under the hood but will mainly receive cosmetic changes only. According to sources, the cars will receive a more upmarket dashboard with dual tone black and beige plastics, better quality plastics and black steering wheel giving the car a more premium appeal. The basic dashboard has not been well accepted customers. Chrome surrounds for the air-conditioning vents and gear lever will also be offered. On the outside, changes mainly include chrome embellishments around the fog lamps and a chrome strip.
This will be the second attempt from Chevrolet to revive the declining sales of the Sail twins. In June the company had launched the Manchester United limited edition of the Sail hatchback.
Earlier this month, Global CEO of GM, Mary Barra had visited India for rollout ceremony of Chevrolet cars from the Talegaon manufacturing facility.
Chevrolet has a strong portfolio in the Indian market, but has failed to capitalize on the growing demand. New product launches and initiatives could help the company achieve a higher market share.
