Yamaha’s new 125cc scooter Cygnus α (Alpha) spotted

Yamaha will soon be launching a new Family scooter in the Indian market, christened the Cygnus α Alpha. The Japanese two wheeler maker had earlier announced plans of launching the scooter in early 2014.

The Yamaha Cygnus α launch comes at a perfect time with arch rival Honda (HMSI) and Suzuki have also unannounced to launch a new scooter.

Riding on the success of Ray & Ray Z, Yamaha has shifted focus on the scooter segment which has seen the biggest growth. From the pics scooter is dimensionally larger as has a more balanced look as compared to the Ray which has a sport look. As per out sources, the scooter will be powered by a 125cc motor and will be targeted to both male & female riders.

The new scooter will address all the issues the Ray encountered and most importantly will offer a larger under seat storage space.

The Cygnus α will tie horns with the segment leader Honda Activa & Activa i, TVS Jupiter, Mahindra Duro & Rodeo and the Suzuki Access. Customers will now have a wider choice in the 125cc scooter segment and with two more launches the customers are only going to get spoiled with many choices.
