Aprilia SR 150 crossover scooter launch on 22nd August, Brochure inside

Aprilia SR 150 Crossover scooter will be launched on the 22nd of August in Mumbai.

The Aprilia SR 150 is just about to be launched and the brochure has been leaked with main details.

The brochure image shows that the SR 150 will feature a handle bar with integrated side indicators, double barrel headlight unit, twin pod instrument cluster, bag hook a very essential when going shopping, racer bike styling, disc brake at the front, a CVT transmission, 14” alloy wheels and under seat storage with a USB charger.

The SR 150 features a 150cc engine with max power of 10.4 bhp @ 6750 rpm and max torque of 11.4 Nm @ 5000 rpm. Suspension includes a hydraulic telescopic front fork and a single rear arm suspension.

The crossover scooter will be offered in two colors –matte black and matte white.

Price and deliveries

The SR 150 is priced at Rs. 65,000 (ex-showroom).

Deliveries of this new Aprilia scooter will start by the end of August 2016 after the official launch on 22nd August.

The Aprilia brand will be the volumes player and the company will expand the product range with scooters of lower cubic capacity. There are rumors of 125cc scooter SR 125 in the pipeline.

The Aprilia brand will be retailed via the Vespa dealerships and will not cannibalize as the styling of Vespa & Aprilia is quite distinct.

The scooter segment in India has witnessed the highest growth in the last 2-3 years and Honda’s Activa is now the best selling scooter in the Indian market overtaking the Hero Splendor which held the baton for more than 20 years.

With increasing income levels and lifestyle quotient the Piaggio group seems to be in the right direction with the Vespa and Aprilia range of scooters.
