Ford Mustang available in Mumbai and Delhi only to start with.

Ford has finally launched the iconic muscle car Mustang in the Indian market.  The iconic pony car has been launched for the first time in the Indian market in its 52-year history. One of the reasons is there was no right hand drive version of the pony car previously.

Priced at Rs. 65 Lakhs, bookings for the iconic Mustang commence in Delhi & Mumbai in the first phase. The car was shown at the 2016 Auto Expo and was one most talked car (it has to be).

The car will be sold as a CBU and is built at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant in the United States.

Mustang in India

The new Mustang retains the key design elements like the long sculpted bonnet and short rear deck – with contemporary execution. Key design features of pony car include signature shark-bite front fascia and trapezoidal grille, a lower, wider stance with a low roof height. wider rear mudguards and three-dimensional, tri-bar taillamps.

Interiors are black with leather upholstery, aviation-inspired cockpit, large, high-definition display screen and tactile switches & knobs. The driver and passenger get Six-way power-adjustable leather-trimmed seats with ventilation and heating.

Mustang in India gets the biggest block 5.0-litre V8 engine, featuring an upgraded valvetrain and cylinder heads, delivering a peak power of 401 PS with 515 Nm of torque with a top speed of 250km/h.

The sports car comes with four Selectable Drive Modes – each setting activating predefined powertrain and chassis calibrations suited to that particular driving situation:

In terms of technology the car features Smart Keyless Entry with Push Button Start to SYNC2 and MyKey, plus standard Track Apps.

In terms of safety the car is equipped with Eight airbags. Along with the glovebox knee airbag for front passenger, the new Mustang have driver and passenger front and seat-mounted side airbags, two side curtain airbags as well as a driver knee airbag.

In addition the car also gets crash sensors, high-intensity-discharge headlamps and exclusive Ford MyKey® which allows to limit top speed and audio system volume.
