World Exclusive – Tata Zica exterior images and details

Tata Motors Zica front 3 quater

Tata Motors is going to unveil the new small car Zica in Goa on the 1st of December. The car has been spotted numerous times in India testing across different regions. We have managed to get exclusive images of the undisguised Zica before the global unveil and the car will be launched in the Indian market in January 2016, just before the auto expo.

The Zica code name Kite is based on the Indica’s X0 platform which has been thoroughly engineered to meet the new safety standards. The name comes from the word Zippy Car according to the company sources and is going to replace the ageing Indica in the metro and Tier 1 cities.

The new hatchback is the third product under the HorizoNext design strategy after the Zest compact sedan and Bolt hatchback. The Zica has been designed inhouse with inputs from from the company’s design centres in Coventry, Turin.

On a first glance the car looks very modern and sophisticated design with a few elements from the Zest to give the car a Family look. The front-end will feature Tata’s new signature honeycomb-grille with a chrome ‘Humanity Line’ also found on the Zest and Bolt that runs into the car’s smoked head-lamps. A prominent line runs through the door handles and culminates in the wraparound section of the newly designed petal shaped tail-lamp cluster. Clean lines and smooth edges do give the car a very European design appeal.

The front is dominated with the honeycomb-grille and chrome elements on the humanity line and around the fog lamps. The top end XT variant gets alloy wheels, fog lamps, colored door handles, ORVM with turn indicators, LED tail lamps, rear parking sensors, defogger with rear wiper and wash, integrated spoiler with elements which enhances the design.

Overall the car looks great and seems like a good competitor to the Maruti Celerio, Wagon R, Renault Kwid and Hyundai i10.

Tata Motors have partnered with Lionel Messi, one of the world’s all-time greatest football players, as its brand ambassador to help revive the brands image and also target younger customers.

A compact sedan based on the Zica will be launched next year and is most likely to be named Sway.
