Volkswagen will launch the MY2015 Jetta in the Indian market on 17th of this month. The 2015 Jetta was recently spotted at a dealership and receives subtle updates. The changes being limited and hence cannot be classified as a facelift.
On the outside, the VW 2015 Jetta gets new front and rear bumpers, front skirting, the fog lamp enclosure is now a square, a new chrome grille with three slats similar to the old gen Passat, and new LED taillamps. On the inside the changes are also very limited and come with a new flat bottom steering wheel (as seen on the new Polo and new Vento) with buttons for cruise control and audio. The centre console is slightly tilted towards the driver side and the passenger air-bag deactivation switch is placed above the hazard button (in the previous gen the passenger air-bag deactivation switch was placed in the glove box)
Engine and gear options are unchanged. The Jetta is powered by a 1.4 TSI petrol engine with 122 PS (90 kW) of max power and 2.0 TDi engine delivers a stunning 140 PS (103 kW) of power at 4200 rpm and exceptional torque of 320 Nm at 1750-2500 rpm. Transmission options include 6-speed manual on the petrol & diesel and a 7 Speed DSG on the Diesel only.
The Jetta comes loaded with features such as – Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti lock Braking System (ABS) with brake assist, Anti slip regulation (ASR), Electronic differential Lock (EDL), Hill hold control, Height-adjustable front seat belts, ISOFIX (mounting points for 2 child seats on rear seat bench), Driver and front passenger airbag, Curtain airbag for front and rear passengers, Side airbags, 12-way electrically adjustable driver seat, Park distance control (front and rear) with acoustic warning, etc.
VW dealers have also started accepting bookings for the new MY2015 Jetta.
