Tata Motors plans 120+ bhp Tiago Sport instead of Bolt Sport

Tiago Sport

With success of Tiago, Tata wants to further promote the up the ante with Tiago Sport.

Tata Motors has been working on several new models to revive its brand image in the market.

At the 2016 Auto Expo Tata Motors displayed a Bolt Sport hinting at the brand’s foray into the hot hatch segment. The company has dropped their plan to introduce the Bolt Sport due to underperforming sales of the stock Bolt hatchback and instead launch a sports variant of the Tiago.

The Tiago’s stinking design will be tweaked for a sportier appearance, with a sport body kit, sportier bumpers, a larger air dam, bigger alloy wheels and a lowered suspension for a spottier stance which will set it apart from the stock Tiago.

Inside expect an all black dashboard and trim, bucket type front seats, sportier instrument console, sportier pedals and a touchscreen entertainment system.

Mechanicals will see a big update in the Tiago Sport with power being drawn from the Nexon’s 1.2 litre turbocharged Revotron petrol engine, with power figures tuned up to 120 bhp+ and higher torque as well. Transmitting power to the wheels could be a new 6 speed manual gearbox over to the 5 speed manual on the stock car.

Tata’s Tiago hatchback won many hearts upon launch instantly with its striking looks and upmarket interiors which was never seen on a Tata car before.
