Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the most important products after the Nano, the Zest and the Bolt. The launch dates not yet fixed, but our sources have confirmed the launch to happen in August, just before the festive season starts. An interesting development is the Zest compact sedan will launched ahead of the Bolt hatch and the bookings for Zest will commence in June.
The Zest and Bolt are make or break products for Tata Motors and the success of these two products will decide the future course for the Indian auto maker.
Tata Motors will introduce a host of new technologies along with new power trains on these products. For the first time a turbo-petrol 1.2T REVETRON engine will introduced in both the Zest and Bolt which will be mated to a 5 speed gear box. The 1.3 diesel engine will also be offered. The Zest will also be offered with a AMT gear box on the diesel engine which makes it a first in the segment and will offer an advantage to Tata Motors. The Multi-mode feature in the petrol engine gives the consumer an option to change between Sport and Economy mode.
In terms of design, the cars will change the perception of Tata Motors and are loaded with segment best features like touch screen audio system, auto climate control, navigation system, 8 speakers and many more.
The Zest will compete with the likes of Swift Dzire, Amaze and Xcent while the Bolt will be positioned in the premium hatch segment and compete with the like of the i20, Polo and Swift.
