2013 Skoda Superb

Skoda begins testing Superb facelift in India, and here is the first image of the Superb spotted. Skoda unveiled the Superb facelift in April in Mladá Boleslav and the car made its official debut at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show.

The flagship model from the Czech car maker receives considerable makeover both on the outside and inside. The 2013 Superb now boasts Skoda’s new design language with completely re-designed front end. The grille, car logo, head and fog lights, bumpers, front wings and bonnet are new.

The bi-xenon headlights now come with integrated LED daytime running lights and the rear light emphasizes the brand’s typical C-shape with LED stripes which are offered for the first time on the Superb.

Interiors get subtle changes with a new four-spoke leather steering wheel, new leather finish gear lever, and colour schemes.

Under the hood there are no changes and the Superb will continue to offer the same powertrains: 1.8 Turbocharged petrol engine with a choice of Manual 6-speed fully synchronized and Automatic 7-speed, DSG, with Tiptronic manual gear changing. The 2.0 Turbocharged diesel engine will be offered with a Automatic 6-speed, DSG, with Tiptronic manual gear changing. We could expect Skoda to offer the 7 speed DSG on the facelift.

The D segment has been witnessing a drop in sales as many customers in this segment have either opted for the more premium models from BMW, Audi  & Mercedes-Benz or shifted to larger SUVs.
