French car maker makes debut in Sri Lanka with Kwid & Duster

French car maker Renualt has introduced the Kwid small car in Sri Lanka. The company has appointed Associated Motorways Private Limited (AMW) as their importer for Renault cars in the country.

After tasting great success in the Indian market Renault has launched the car in Sri Lanka and will further expand their presence in other SAARC countries.

Associated Motorways the sole importer plans to open five Renault service outlets and five after-sales outlets in Sri Lanka in the year 2017.

Managing Director of AMW, Samantha Rajapaksa said the firm, which recently opened a state-of-the-art Renault distributorship facility at Gangarama in Colombo, will offer customers an excellent brand experience – from the test drive, to delivery and after-sales support.

Renault has introduced four variants of the Kwid in Sri Lanka – Std, RxE, RxL and RxT.

The top end RxT features power steering, AC, front power windows, front fog lights, keyless entry and central locking, a 7-inch touchscreen MediaNAV system with Bluetooth, USB, AUX-in, and optional driver airbag.

There are no changes to the technical specifications of the Kwid sold in Sri Lanka. Renault has also offered a number of customisation options. It continues to be powered by the three-cylinder 0.8-liter petrol engine capable of 54 PS at 5,678 rpm and 72 Nm of torque at 4,386 rpm, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.

Renault also introduced the New Duster range along with the 6 speed Easy – R AMT version.
