Renault to launch Kwid 1.0 on 22nd August, more details inside.

Renault will launch the bigger engine capacity Kwid 1.0 on the 22nd of August. The French automaker will not launch the AMT version at this stage and plans to introduce in a few months from now.

The Kwid has been a blockbuster product for Renault with sales averaging just under 10,000 units per month.

Kwid 1.0 specs and details

The Kwid 1.0 comes with a 999cc 67hp petrol motor mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The Kwid 1.0 delivers a claimed 23.01 kmpl, while the 800cc engine model delivers 25.17 kmpl.

As reported earlier the Kwid wit 1.0 engine would be packed with new features, but as per the latest report there are no changes to the car expect the new 1.0L Smart Control efficiency Engine (SCE) which will produce 68 Ps @ 5500 rpm as opposed to 77Ps reported earlier.

The car has a max torque of 91Nm at 4,250 rpm and weighs about 700kgs.

The car will be available in two top trims RXT and RXT (O).

The new Renault Kwid 1.0 will compete with Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, Tata Tiago and Eon 1.0 in the litre class engine segment.

In terms of features the car will continue to be equipped with optional Driver airbag, Touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, USB, Bluetooth audio streaming and aux-in, 2 front speakers, Remote keyless entry with central locking, Dual-tone dashboard, front power windows, Front fog lamps and Rear parcel tray.
