Renault Duster AWD launch very soon, all details inside

Renault Duster AWD front

French car maker has been tight lipped about the Duster AWD when the SUV made its debut in the Indian market two years back. At the Auto Expo, the top honchos did make a few statements of new variants of the Duster but did not share any news about the AWD variant.

Renault will soon launch All-Wheel Drive variant of the Duster finally. The AWD or 4×4 variant will finally be the answer to those who kept asking for an four wheel drive option on the Duster. We wonder how many of it will translate into sales.

The Duster AWD will sport black smokey headlights found on the Adventure edition with dark grey R16 alloy wheels and matte black B-pillars on the RxZ trim. The SUV does not get the front armor with integrated fog lamps, side & wheel arched cladding. The functional roof rails are made available.

The interiors get red & black seats, a new three-spoke steering wheel, new instrument console which also gives instantaneous fuel consumption, centre console with a knob to shift from 2WD to Auto and a differential lock. Besides the Duster AWD also gets traction control system.

The 2WD keeps the SUV in permeant two wheel drive mode and when you shift to Auto, part of power is given to the rear wheels for maximum traction and Lock keeps the vehicle in complete 4×4 mode upto 60 kmph.

The AWD will be available on the top RxZ variant and will be priced higher by about 80K. The Duster AWD has been in production in Chennai as Dacia Duster AWD which are made for exports only.
