Nissan announced the appointment of Sanjay Gupta as Vice President – Marketing, Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd., effective December 21, 2015. Mr. Sanjay Gupta will report to Mr. Arun Malhotra, Managing Director Nissan Motor India.
With over two decades of experience in the automotive and engineering industries in India, Gupta has worked with organizations like Hyundai Motor India Pvt Ltd, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd, and Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. Till recently, he was the Senior Vice President of Marketing at M3M India Limited. He has successful track record of establishing brands and making them distinctive and remarkable amidst a highly competitive market.
Nissan’s portfolio in India includes the Micra Active, Micra hatchbacks, Sunny Sedan, Terrano SUV and Evalia MPV. The company plans to introduce the X-Trail SUV in 2016 and also expand its foot print in more segments.
Nissan’s marketing move
Nissan has joined hands with International Cricket Council (ICC) to further strengthen its ties with global sport. The two have signed an 8 year agreement which runs through 2023 making Nissan as a global sponsor of cricket’s international tournaments, including the ICC Cricket World Cup, ICC Champions Trophy and ICC World Twenty20, as well as Under 19 and Women’s Cricket and qualifying events.
