Škoda Auto India has launched one of the most awaited cars of the year, the all new Octavia sedan. The Skoda brand was introduced to the Indian markets with the launch of the Octavia, and for many years the Octavia represented Skoda.
The new Octavia brings a lot new freshness to the Skoda brand is the first car in India that will carry ŠKODA’s new Design Philosophy in its full glory. The sedan is based on the VW MQB platform.
The new Octavia boasts of elegant design, high functionality, unrivalled space, innovative safety & comfort systems, high fuel economy, packed with Simply Clever. The new generation far superior in terms of quality, technology, efficiency and affinity in the segment it operates.
The new Octavia is offered in seven variants and 3 engine options. 1.4TSI & 1.8TSI petrol and 2.0 TDI diesel.

Engines & Transmission
The 1.4 TSI petrol is the entry offering and is available on the Active / Ambition variants. The 1395cc engine develops 103 Kw (140PS )/4500-6000 max power and healthy torque of 250 Nm @1500-3500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6 speed manual gear box and delivers a fuel efficiency of 16.81 kmpl.
The 1.8 TSI also available on the Laura which is going to be discontinued very soon develops 132 Kw (180PS)/5100-6200 rpm and Torque of 250 Nm/1250-5000. The 1.8 TSI is available with an automatic, 7-speed, DSG, with Tiptronic manual gear changing and offered on the Elegance trim only. The powerful motor offers fuel efficiency of 14.72 kmpl.
The 2.0 TDI CR comes with two transmission options: 6-speed manual and automatic 6-speed, DSG, with Tiptronic manual gear changing. The engine produces 105Kw (143PS)/4000 of max power and 320Nm /1750-3000 of max torque. The manual option offers a very good mileage of 20.61 kmpl while the automatic returns 19.28 kmpl.
The car is loaded with technology and comfort features.
The Octavia’s arrival into the Indian market also kicks off a five year strategy for the Czech automaker which will make the customers the brand’s primary focus in addition to our long-standing reputation for making great products.
