New 2017 Hyundai Verna teaser surfaces on website, launch on 22nd August

Hyundai India has started teasing the new generation Verna Sedan on the company website. The automaker has also launched a micro site where prospective customers can login and submit details to be contacted when the new gen sedan gets introduced.

The new Verna will feature Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy. The teaser confirms new hexagonal grille, LED DRLs and round fog lamps, which are identical to the Hyundai Accent avaialble in North America as compared to the Chinese-spec.

Dimensionally the new generation is slightly bigger than the outgoing model and measures  4,385 mm in length, 1,729 mm in width and 1,450 mm in height. The car has a wheelbase of  2,580 mm, which is 10 mm longer than the current model, 29 mm wider and overall length increased by 15 mm.

The interior details are limited but we can certainly expect dual tone interiors with black and beige combination.

In terms of equipment the Verna will be get a 7-inch touchscreen AVN unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, new Supervision instrument cluster and multi-info display, chunkier leather-wrapped steering wheel with cruise control and infotainment buttons, rear AC vent, rear parking sensors and camera, dual airbags and ABS as standard across the range.

Hyundai could offer side and curtain airbags on the top SX(O) variant with more features such as Auto-dimming mirrors, HID headlamps, LED taillamps, and 16-inch diamond cut alloy rims.

The new generation Verna is expected to be launched on the 22nd of August.

The new Verna will take on the likes Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, SKODA Rapid and Volkswagen Vento.
