Mercedes-Benz India is all set to launch the SLK 55 AMG in the Indian market on the 2nd of December. The German luxury car maker is not settling and is continuing their offensive of new launches in 2013. This will be the eight model in the last nine months from the Benz range of cars and third in the AMG portfolio. Mercedes-Benz launched the G63 AMG to start with and few months back launched the E63 AMG.
The SLK 55 AMG is powered by naturally aspirated V8 AMG and produces max power of 421 hp@6800rpm with 540 Nm of torque@4500 rpm. The engine is mated to the AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC transmission and does 0-100 km in just 4.6 seconds.
The roadster will be launched as a CBU and we could expect the price to hover over Rs. 1 crores.
Mercedes-Benz is working hard to regain the number one position in the Indian market and plans to launch more products in the next few years. In the pipeline is the new S-Class a bench mark in terms of comfort and luxury, new CLA sedan which is certainly going to be a game changer and the GLA compact SUV which will help Mercedes-Benz to take on the likes of the BMW X1 and Audi Q3.
