Maruti Suzuki launches Ciaz SHVS Hybrid in India, starts at Rs. 8.23 lakhs

India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki has launched the all new Ciaz SHVS Hybrid in the Indian market. The new Ciaz SHVS Hybrid is priced at Rs. making it the least priced hybrid car in the Indian market.

The Ciaz SHVS Hybrid comes with Integrated Started Generator (IGS) which is a combination of technologies to provide good performance and high fuel efficiency.

Some important pointers from the launch

  • Maruti Suzuki Ciaz hybrid is India’s first diesel hybrid car
  • The excise duty is reduced from 24% to 12.5 % thanks to FAME initiative from the government
  • The benefit is passed to the customer and later claimed by the OEM from government

Some of the salient features of SHVS technology are

Idle Stop Start – the engine stops automatically when the car is idle and starts again when the clutch is depressed. This helps in increasing fuel efficiency.

Torque Assist function – The regeneration of the energy assists the torque function which helps the engine is providing optimal acceleration and performance

Brake Energy Regeneration – Braking charges the battery and generates energy to assist the engine’s idle stop start function and helps the engine during acceleration

Gear Shift indicator – it prompts the driver to effectively change gears. This helps to ensure a smoother ride and better fuel efficiency
