Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Hybrid brochure, launch on 1st September

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz SHVS

We were the first to report about the launch date of the new Maruti Suzuki Ciaz SHVS Hybrid on the 1st of September. The Ciaz SHVS Hybrid will be the first Maruti Suzuki car to get hybrid technology and will be available on the diesel engine option only.

Thanks to our friends at Carwale, who have managed to get hold onto the brochure. The Ciaz will now be the most fuel efficient vehicle in the country and will return a high fuel efficiency of 28.09 kmpl. This record could soon be broken with the launch of the hybrid Swift and Swift Dzire, which are expected to return a fuel efficiency of 30 kmpl.

The Ciaz SHVS Hybrid will be offered in 5 variants VDi, VDi O, VDi+, ZDi, ZDi+.

The diesel engine is paired to Integrated Started Generator (IGS) which helps to improve fuel efficiency by supplementing the engine’s power and enables high acceleration and all-round performance.

Some of the salient features of this SHVS technology are

Idle Stop Start – the engine stops automatically when the car is idle and starts again when the clutch is depressed. This helps in increasing fuel efficiency.

Torque Assist function – The regeneration of the energy assists the torque function which helps the engine is providing optimal acceleration and performance

Brake Energy Regeneration – Braking charges the battery and generates energy to assist the engine’s idle stop start function and helps the engine during acceleration

Gear Shift indicator – it prompts the driver to effectively change gears. This helps to ensure a smoother ride and better fuel efficiency

Driver Airbag is made standard across all variants while ABS starts from second variant.

Prices could be higher in the range of 25-40K.
