Maruti-Celerio-teaser

Maruti Suzuki will launch the new Celerio global compact car code name YL7 at the 2014 Auto Expo. The compact car will eventually replace the A-Star globally and the A-Star and Estilo in the Indian market.

The new global compact car will be feature a new automated manual transmission (AMT) technology which provides a clutch less experience very similar to an automatic the only difference is the driver has the liberty to shift the gears manually.

Thanks to our friends at IAB who have the first set of teaser images of the Celerio AMT which will be called as EZ DRIVE. This new technology will be a first by any auto manufacturer in the Indian market. The Celerio will be offered in both manual and AMT variants and latter is expected to be more fuel efficient.

The Celerio will be powered by Suzuki’s 1.0-litre K-Series three-cylinder engine which is also available on the A-Star, Wagon R, Estilo and Alto K10. Power figures will be similar to the A-Star which provides 68 PS of max power and 90 Nm of torque.

The Celerio will be unveiled at the 2014 and may also be launched the same day. In terms of design the car will draw a lot of inspiration from the A: Wind concept shown at the Thailand International Motor Expo in November last year.
