Isuzu to launch MU-7 Automatic this month

Japanese car maker Isuzu is going to introduce the automatic transmission variant of the MU-7 SUV in the Indian market. The launch will most likely happen this month

Isuzu launched the MU-7 SUV in the Indian market in December 2012 and later began local assembly in December 2013 at Hindustan Motors’ Tiruvallur plant where Mitsubishi also assembles the Pajero Sport.

The MU-7 is currently offered in BS-3 and BS-4 variants and priced between Rs. 21.58 lakhs to Rs. 23.9 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi. The Automatic variant could be priced a lakh more.

The MU- 7 is powered by a 3L diesel engine which delivers 163PS of power at 3600 rpm and max 360Nm of torque mated to a 5 Speed Manual transmission. The MU-7 is available in a 4×2 drive train.  The MU-7 automatic will most likely be a 5-speed transmission with Rev-tronic sequential shifting if you want to take control and Grade logic keeps you in the correct gear when ascending and descending steep terrain.

The MU-7 has large road presence with overall dimensions of 4955 X 1800 X 1805 and wheelbase of 3050mm which is the best  in segment.

Isuzu has been focusing on increasing the number of dealers before launching new products in the Indian market. Isuzu are renowned for their diesel technology globally. The company also markets the D-Max pick-up truck in the Indian market.
