Isuzu motors rolls out its first Made-in-India D-MAX Adventure Utility Vehicle

 

Isuzu Motors, a global manufacturer of commercial and utility vehicles with operations in 25 countries rolled out the D-MAX Adventure Utility Vehicle, its first Made-in-India product from its new plant at SriCity, Andhra Pradesh. The plant was earlier in the day inaugurated by Shri. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Isuzu Motors India Private Limited (IMI), a subsidiary of Isuzu Motors Limited, Japan, was established in August 2012 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Headquartered in Chennai, the company has sales and service outlets in the 26 key cities in India. This network will be expanded further with the start of local manufacturing operations at SriCity, Andhra Pradesh.

The inauguration of the new plant and the first vehicle roll-out was held in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Kenji Hiramatsu, Ambassador of Japan to India, Mr. Kazushi Okawa, Executive Vice President, dignitaries from the Government of Andhra Pradesh, Senior Officials from IMI, Media and Business partners of ISUZU.

The SriCity  manufacturing plant is spread over 107 acres and has a production capacity of 50,000 units that can be boosted up to 120,000 units as demand rises.

Globally, the D-MAX V-Cross (4×4) is a proven 4WD off-roader and also a premium 5-seater urban vehicle. This is a first-in-the-segment product in India that meets the aspirations of India’s adventure seekers.

The D-MAX Crew Cab, a 4 door pickup with a cargo deck offers multi-utility capabilities for the business owners who like to drive their own pickups and carry their crew and material with them. The D-MAX Single Cab and D-MAX Cab-Chassis variant addresses the needs of India’s modern business and commercial vehicle owners. 

ISUZU considers India as a key market and will launch new products catering to other market segments in the near future. Bookings for the new generation ISUZU vehicles will start soon.
