Nissan Micra CVT prices slashed, thanks to increased localisation
The Nissan Micra was always considered a smart looking car in the premium hatch segment. Currently in the fourth generation, its heritage dates back to 35 years when it was first launched in 1982 as Nissan March.
The Micra has won many awards and accolades worldwide and is also the most exported car from India.
While it has been in local production since 2010, the Micra was never in the top ranks even though it came loaded with features and a high-tech CVT option.
Sensing that its premium pricing was the primary reason for mediocre sales, Nissan today announced its locally-produced and technology-packed Micra CVT, at a revised price of Rs 5.99 Lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Micra features Nissan’s globally-renowned X-TRONIC CVT automatic transmission which offers technological superiority over conventional automatics, higher refinement, smoother acceleration and no shift shocks.
Nissan is the first manufacturer to introduce the CVT technology in premium hatchbacks in India. The Micra CVT offers a mileage figure of 19.34 kmpl (as per ARAI).
Making the announcement, Arun Malhotra, MD – Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. said, “The Nissan Micra CVT brings new levels of technology, performance and style to the premium hatchback segment in India.
“As Micra is produced right here in India, we are able to better serve the market in terms of faster, more efficient delivery and improved localization levels. This allows us to pass on these benefits to our customers in the form of a revised, even more competitive price for our popular premium hatchback” added Malhotra.
