Honda 2 Wheeler will launch new CBR 250 RR bike in Indonesia. Could be launched in India in 2017
PT Astra, the two wheeler arm of Honda 2 Wheelers in Indonesia has dropped a teaser of the sports bike CBR 250 RR. The company has released teaser video of the quarter litre supersports motorcycle.
From the teaser video the production version of the new CBR 250RR borrows many design cues from the Lightweight Supersports concept previewed at the Tokyo Motor Show last year.
The design is very aggressive with edgy multi surface fuel tank and the matte-black color sets the design tone. The bike features clip-on handlebars, split seat, contrast red finish for the tailpiece, USD front fork and single front disc.
Full digital instrument console and LED lights at the rear will be standard. Honda is most likely to offer many accessory options on the motorcycle.
CBR 250RR will be powered by a 250 cc twin-cylinder high-revving motor mated to 6-speed transmission unlike the CBR 250R model which is a single cylinder. Power output could be in the range of 45 PS.
The Honda CBR250RR will be made in Indonesia and could be exported to other ASEAN markets. The bike will compete with the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 250 R, Yamaha YZF-R25 and KTM RC250.
Honda Motorcycle Scooter India may consider bringing the model as the CBR 250R has been well accepted and riders looking for a more powerful bike could be the target customer. Honda has developed a good customer base and these are ripe for an upgrade which makes the CBR 250RR and ideal choice.
