FIAT Brazil has released images of the soon to be launched Punto successor, the new FIAT ARGO. The new ARGO has has been designed and developed in Brazil and is expected go on sale in Brazil very soon.

The company has launched a teaser on the company and also posted a video of how the car is made. Production of the new premium hatch is at full throttle at the Fiat Automotive Polo in Betim.

FIAT ARGO represents the apex of Fiat’s automotive development in Brazil, with state-of-the-art manufacturing processes.

The new ARGO looks muscular with sharp edges. The front looks very dominating with large swept-back headlamps with DRLs, new grille design with the FIAT logo in the centre, contrasting red inserts in the front bumper which gives the car a sporty appeal.

The rear compliments the front with sharp and muscular design theme and wraparound tail lamps. The rear bumper gets houses boomerang-shaped reflectors and a trapezoidal chrome exhaust tip. The new diamond cut alloy wheels adds to the oomph factor.

The Brazil-spec ARGO will come with three petrol engine options with displacements of 1.0-litre, 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre with Flex technology. Manual as well as automatic transmission options will be on offer.

India launch?

There is no certain timeline as to when FIAT may introduce the new ARGO in India as the company is currently focusing on Jeep Compass.

We should expect this model along with a sedan variant to be launched in India if FCA plans to infuse more capital and also manages good retail numbers from Jeep.
