Chevrolet launches Cruze facelift, starts at Rs. 13.75 lakhs

Chevrolet India has silently launched the Cruze refresh sedan in the Indian market. The car gets a dose of refreshed exterior styling, new comfort features and added safety.

On the front the Cruze comes with a new dual-port front grille with gold bowtie, newly designed front and rear bumpers, new dual bezel design headlamps, new alloy wheels and new fog lamps with chrome surround across all trim levels. The changes add to aggressive stance of the car.

The car offers the driver added comfort with features like a six-way power adjustable driver’s seat, dead pedal, power-operated windows with the express-up & down feature on the driver’s window, integrated audio system with graphic infotainment display  Bluetooth music streaming and pinch guard protection for improved customer delight.

Other features include: Push button start, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers and an auto-dimming inside rear view mirror, Steering wheel-mounted cruise control, three-gauge instrument cluster with  ice-blue dash illumination and a centre-positioned information display.

In terms of safety the Cruze is equipped with dual front airbags and two side airbags, safety cage, ABS with electronic sensors and Passive Entry Passive Start (PEPS).

There are no mechanical changes and continues to be powered with the 2.0-litre VCDi engine under the hood which delivers 166 PS of unadulterated power on tap and 380 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful diesel car in its class. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The Cruze is available in three variants: LT, LTZ and LTZ Automatic

Chevrolet will have to push the Cruze harder if the company wants a larger pie, as the new Octavia has lots to offer in terms of equipment and features comparatively. The segment may not be posting higher growth but new models like Elantra and Octavia have helped revive sales. Next in the pipeline is the facelifted Renault Fluence.
