BMW launches new 7 Series in India, gets pricey

BMW 7 Series launch

BMW introduced its flagship brand; the new 7 Series in India in Mumbai. Like the 7 Series continues to keep upto its tradition of Luxury and innovation. The fifth generation gets the much need second life treatment before the company launches the sixth gen in 2015-16.

The 7 Series is in India will be available in diesel and petrol variants at all dealerships across India and the deliveries will commence from 1 May 2013 onwards.

 BMW will also assemble the 7 Series for the first time in the Indian market. This will be the fifth product from the German car maker to be made in India. The company have also started assembling the MINI Countryman in the Indian marker.

The 730Ld diesel variant will be locally produced at the Chennai plant and the company may later introduce the 720LD. The 740Li, 750Li and the 760Li will be imported as Completely Built-Up Units

The new 7 Series is pricier ascompared to the outgoing model by a good Rs.20-30 lakhs. One reason is the increase in taxes which have directly impacted the luxury cars.
