BMW launches facelifted 3 Series in India

German luxury car maker, BMW have silently launched the facelifted 3 Series in the Indian market. BMW has currently introduced the diesel variant of the facelifted 3 Series and will launch the petrol variant later in 2016.

The 2016 BMW 3 Series comes in four exclusive design schemes: Prestige, Sport Line, Luxury Line and new M Sport variant.

The facelifted 3 Series comes with new twin LED headlights and LED fog lights, LED indicators and full LED units at the rear arranged in distinctive BMW ‘L’ shape. The car also gets a broader side air intakes along with newly designed front and rear bumper with line elements express the broad stand on the road.

The Sport Line variant comes with kidney grille slats in high-gloss black, red contrast rings on the round gauges of the instrument panel, including sporting chrono scaling, red contrast stitching on the sports steering wheel and a basic decorative trim strip in high-gloss black with coral red accentuated strip. This variant also comes with different upholstery options. The vehicle key is designed in black with a red decorative strip.

The Luxury Line impresses with its classic and elegant design elements such as high-gloss chrome unit to the exterior. The vehicle key is designed in black with a chrome-plated decorative strip.

BMW has also introduced a new M Sport version which is equipped with the M aerodynamic package, an M leather steering wheel, front sports seats and Driving Experience Control switch with additional Sport+ mode. It features the BMW Navigation System Professional and full colour BMW Head-up Display which projects vital driving information into the driver’s line of sight. M Sport variant is also available in the new leather upholstery options with accents.

The M Sport version is available in exclusive Estoril Blue metallic colour.

Power comes from a TwinPower Turbo diesel engine, which delivers an excellent output of 140 kW / 190 hp. High torque of 400 Nm is available at just 1,750 – 2,500 rpm. The new BMW 320d accelerates to 100 km / hr in 7.2 seconds with the ability to achieve a top speed of 230 km / hr. The engine is available with a new eight-speed automatic transmission.

BMW 3 Series is locally produced at the company’s Chennai plant and can be ordered at BMW dealerships across India from today onwards. BMW is also offering customers to have a choice to avail the 3 Series with the BMW 360º Program.

The 3 Series competes with the likes of Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4 and upcoming Jaguar XE.
