SKODA India has introduced the MY 2017 SKODA Rapid sedan in the Indian market. The MY 2017 Rapid comes with new features like 16inch Alloy wheels, soft touch boot release button and Reverse Camera.
Currently the features are available only in the top Style trim and is available in both petrol and diesel. The cars have reached dealerships and the sales have commenced.
The new Style variants are priced at a premium of approx Rs. 35,000.
SKODA introduced the Rapid sedan with new crystalline design language in November 2016. The launch of facelift the sedan came with features like New Quartz-cut Projector Lens headlights with chrome eye lashes and LED Day Running Lights, Dual-Tone Ebony-Sand interiors with premium perforated Leatherette upholstery, New ‘Drive’ Central Infotainment System with 6.5 inch colour touchscreen and MirrorLinkTM technology.
In terms of safety the Rapid comes with Dual Airbags, ABS as standard from base model with ESC, & Hill Hold Control avaialble on the DSG variants.
The sedan is available in 3 variants: Active, Ambition and Style with six exciting colour options Brilliant Silver, Candy White, Cappuccino Beige, Carbon Steel, Silk Blue and Flash Red.
Rapid powered by a 1.6L MPI petrol engine or the New 1.5L TDI diesel engine. Transmission options include a 5 speed manual, automatic 6-speed, with Tiptronic manual gear changing on the petrol and 7-Speed DSG, Automatic offered on the diesel.
The Rapid sedan competes with the likes of Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento and Nissan Sunny.
